Australian Teams for the Road World Championships 2011 - Your Picks?

Barbie's sure to make the list!  (photo: brassyn)

Tourdecouch asked Natasha Mitchell* - Level 1 Road and Track Coach in Victoria, Australia to look at the Australian team long lists for the Road World Championship and tell us her picks (and some of the reasoning and her tips).

(*9 spots for mens RR, 6 for womens RR, 5 for u23s. 2 each for Time Trial)

Mens Elite Road (9 spots)
Goss
Haussler
Sutton
Matthews
Gerrans
O'Grady
Hansen
Howard
Renshaw (she ummed and aahed re: Renshaw)

Womens Elite Road (6 spots)
Gillow
Cromwell
Hosking
Hoskins
Ryan
Corset

u23 Mens Road (5 spots)
Durbridge
Lang
Palmer
Dennis
She couldn't call the last one, but said it would be between McCarthy, Aitken, Lewis

Mens Time Trial
Porte
Bobridge

Womens Time Trial
Gillow
Heather

u23 Time Trial
Durbridge
Howson

Natasha's other thoughts:
I think Chloe Hosking is the only Oz woman with a chance for the win in the RR, but she's not as strong as say a Vos or  Pooley on the uphill finishes. She's been riding really strongly the last week but I can't see her beating Vos.

Howard and Hansen may get a run due to their having decent legs from Vuelta Howard will be support though I imagine.

Last pick for the Mens RR may be Porte or Renshaw but course suits neither really. If Porte's already doing TT, maybe Rensaw is a smarter pick and he's an excellent team rider. In terms of the win,
any of my first 5 picks. ACT should be happy with 7 riders in that long list!

Who do you think will make the teams?
